R&S at the Ecofair at Taronga Zoo

01 November 2017

The NSW Roots & Shoots team had a fantastic weekend at Taronga Zoo for the Boral Eco Fair on September 28-29. More than 200 young people pledged to reduce the amount of plastic that they use by putting their thumbprint on Binging, the paper mâché turtle. Binging was created by our NYLC team and is a mascot for JGIA’s plastic-free oceans initiative launching in early 2018. Pledges included committing to stop using plastic bags, disposable coffee cups, plastic straws, unsustainable transport and more! Thanks to everyone who came along and committed to cutting down on plastic waste. We look forward to seeing you again next year at the Eco Fair.

In the meantime, you can join us during No Waste November, a global campaign created at the R&S Windsor Gathering in July 2017 to empower people to reduce waste in their lives. Please print out a pledge card, make your pledge and then share on social media to encourage others to do the same. Visit Roots & Shoots Australia and our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages for more information. We would love to be able to share all of your pledges and the difference that we have made on the R&S Project Page at the end of the month!
