On April 16th, JGIA was proud to join in the March for Science Australia. In 2017, more than one million people around the world marched to defend science for the common good and its role in policy and society. In 2018, as many still deny or belittle the importance of science and its place in policy and funding, the march was a wonderful opportunity to send a message to our elected and appointed officials that we want evidence-based policies that serve our communities.
Dr Jane and the Jane Goodall Institute Australia believe in the power of research, curiosity, equity, community and compassionate citizenship, and endlessly support those in scientific fields using knowledge to improve the lives of all beings through conservation, technology, medicine and so much more.
We hope that you were able to join the millions around the world who believe that the public discovery, distribution and understanding of scientific knowledge is crucial to the freedom, success, health, and safety of life on this planet. Please watch Dr Jane’s March for Science message here and join us in 2019 to stand up for science!
