Jane Goodall in the News

01 December 2017

As always, we like to share stories of Jane in the news and this month there was no shortage! Of course it was hard to miss her lovely face once again on the cover of National Geographic magazine. The feature covered the new documentary JANE, which will be showing in Australia in 2018, and we will certainly keep you updated on how you can see this amazing new film. While Jane was in Australia in June, she spoke with Womankind magazine, which resulted in the excellent and highly recommended Tanzania issue, now available in good newsagents and online.

Further afield, Jane and director Brett Morgen spoke to the NY times in TimesTalks about the documentary  and how they captured more than 100 hours of never-before-seen footage of Goodall, whose chimpanzee research challenged the male-dominated scientific consensus of her time. Jane also spoke to Vogue magazine about the mission of JGI, how Australia is among countries moving the wrong direction on the environment, and how we have a responsibility to our children to do better. Finally she spoke to the Guardian about how she went from ‘dreaming a man’s dreams’ to living her own, and what that means for her life today. Happy reading!
